promotion
where are you going a year down the road?
Well, promo results are back. Congrats to all who passed..... and congrats to all who really tried!
my score without moderation: please don't kill me
GP H1: D
CL H1: E
Econs H1: S
Maths H2: A
Bio H2: A
Chem H2: A
Looks good? actually, as mentioned by 'some' already promoted, many others got better scores then me. Whom those 'some' know. Amusing. i dun really care.
Maybe i should give a brief description of what happened. Choir member A asked my grades. I told her. She then asked choir member B what she thought my grades would be. choir member B then sneered that i would never reveal my marks. i think choir member A tried to defend me and told him my marks. could see choir member B tense up. bad mistake on choir member A's part... but she meant no harm. I muttered to her that.
Choir member C who happened to be there then said that my grades were not that good as" i know people who scored better than u". Then choir member B commented" you should not go around telling your marks when people are having problems being promoted". i kept silent.
I would here like to bring up three points about the general student population clearly shown here.
One, there is a set of moral rules that all people who are 'in' must abide by, so as not to upset people around them. As shown by Choir Member B's statments, these rules contradict themselves at several points. So i decided to stick to the truth about my grades when asked. Of coz, then people who want to critise me will pick up whichever rule i went against.
Two, I assume Choir member B assumed i had told Choir Member A about my grades without her asking. This whole assumption thing. Of course: Assuming things leads to misunderstandings, and clarifying them will go against point number one. All it takes ... is one wrong assumption, and everything may be undone.
Three, Our dependance on frens: showed by choir member C. someone i know did this. a fren helped me. Yes . Interdependace allows the team to reach greater heights. But there will come a time when we have to depend on ourselves.
looking at point 2 and 3, its not hard to understand why we do badly during exams. Stripped of our friends, assuming certain wrong concepts..... we are bound to fail something.
So don't use point one against those who do 'well'.
must start working on my econs and Gp... both subject tutors are disappointed.
just a note though. Thank you choir member A. your the only one who bothered to be nice when you found out my results, next to lenin
